After reading several self published indian books, it is obvious that many of the self published indian authors are not able to get the audience they deserve, though the content of their books is often far better and more interesting than the more high profile authors who get coverage in the mainstream media. It appears that they are not able to market their books properly, people are just not aware that these books are available , the topic which the book is covering.
Most of the high profile authors in India, are able to promote their books using marketing gimmicks , advertising extensively in the mainstream media, with book launches, while the relatively new authors have to confine themselves to online stores where it is difficult to rank well.
