Nutritious Crab – Blue Crab

Not all home cook’s are able to cook blue crab and people are wondering why is crab hard to cook for some people. The type of crabs that are already prepared for cooking does not taste that good as well. People would settle for shelled claw meat as well as tinned crab but the taste just can’t compare to the heavenly bliss you taste from freshly cooked blue crab. And even the fear of being pinched by a live crab scares these home cook’s and that is why they do not cook fresh blue crab.

When you shell your own crab, which is pretty easy if you just try, you will get that feeling of accomplishment since you will also sow what you reap. And when you see that white flesh from the blue crab’s claws are just wonderful, it can even beat that white flesh you get from lobsters. The blue crab will also have that brown meat that will make you say wow since it will taste amazing and it will tell you that crustacean flavor is just awesome. You will be able to break off the claws off the blue crab easily when it is already cooked, this makes handling them easier. And put the claws in a separate plastic bag and just whack them with a rolling pin or the likes to get the meat inside. Make sure that you use the plastic bag so that you will not lose the precious meat, it might scatter all over the table and also this is to stop the shell’s shards spread everywhere. You will be able to eat the brown meat in the carapace as well, it will be very tasty. Anything brown will be edible so remove the greyish meat in the blue crab first since that will be the gills and those are not edible. You can even make stock out from the blue crab’s legs, it will taste magnificent.

This is why blue crab meat will be good for you. The meat you get from a blue crab is not only for making you feel full and stuffed but it is also good for body tissue repair. You will also get something great from the crab meat and that is omega-3 fatty acids, good, right? A blue crab meat will also be good for anti-inflammatory properties thanks to the omega-3 fatty acids.
